Lesson 10: Recap of key points and previous lessons. 

Hello, my friend! We are very thrilled to see you here! Sadly, this is the end of the road for me. We saw you first when you were only a Ninjapup and now you are a NinjaGod! Seems like yesterday when you took your first steps towards becoming a master of public speaking and english Oratory. You still have one presentation pending, but this is the last lesson you will receive from our part. Its all on you from now on, but no worries, we know you made a great effort and you’ll receive a great reward for putting all your attention towards one single objective. 

You are ready for a presentation, we are 

This last lesson will synthesize everything we have saw on this journey and we’ll add some things on the way. 

The first thing we need is a clear and concise idea of how the project is going to look like at the end. This is the CANVAS BUSINESS MODEL, a tool to organize our ideas and to understand the purpose of any outcome. The clearer the canvas is, the better the idea will turn out.

The Canvas Business Model could be used easily in any subject or environment. It is usually used in business cases, but if you focus it correctly its purpose can change, for example, party planning, construction project, and even with a trip to the Bahamas.

Take your CANVAS and translate it. The best way to do this is to write it down or sketch it on a piece of paper. Then keep translating it into your own words, until it looks like a clear and concise idea.

Find all the resources available to you in real life: Read to a friend, present your idea to a family member, or at least repeat it to yourself in front of a mirror. 

While exposing remember to follow one very simple structure that every single story or text has to follow. Introduction, plot, ending, and conclusion. 

To break “The Ice”, establish a meaningful bond with the public before exposing any subject. Try a joke or an anecdote to cause a great sensation among the crowd. This section is part of The Introduction. 

Continue with The Plot which must be at least 30% of the contents. It is always marked by arguments, data, and precise statistics.

 A Plot Twist could be introduced to leave the audience at the edge of their seats. 

At The Ending you have to state all the solutions, all the plans, and all the actions that your project is going to overtake to impact positively and improve your community.

A slight prediction, you’ll give people the need to follow your project until the end. 

The Conclusion is extremely important because it’s the last piece of information that the audience will take home.

Great level of English oratory does not require a huge amount of vocabulary or a long text. Actually, is quite the opposite, they prefer to have a concise and to the point text that explains the most crucial ideas in a short and elaborated sentence.

If possible, try to use this appropriate sentence order to speak and write from now on: Pronoun+ verb + adjective/adverb+ vocabulary. 

The key to orally expressing comfortably is to automatically form a sentence in your mind before saying it out loud. Use a special filter that we have equipped on our minds. Let`s use this blackboard to project the structure and replace it with valuable words. 

Relax! Pause before speaking, take a minute, a long breath, and begin again.

Try to use the space. If you have a big stage available to you, go ahead and move around. 

Lastly, remember to always warm-up! The best way is to use a “mantra”. The purpose of this mantra is to loosen your mind and dominating complex words.

This is the last draft, no more modifications are allowed by this point. You probably started with one thing and ended up having another text. This is good, it means that there was a whole hidden picture that you can see now. 

The last revision should not be done by yourself. You need a second point of view that may look things in a different way. In this case you have an advisor to revise every entry, however if you would like to show someone your work you are welcome to do so. Gaining allies along the way is extremely important. 

Accumulating skills and tools to promote your project is very important, so the mastering of other tools that may come in handy is necessary. Translate your text into the presentation but not literally, only key points and key words. 

Rule number one when making a presentation, no more than one word per sentence, and no more than one image that can replace that word. Try to be the center of attention, people`s eyes and ears should be upon you and not over your presentation. The visual aid should work to measure your remaining time, as a guidance for you, and as a way to complement, not distract.   

Finally, you should start building “hype” by promoting your project on social networks or other means. 

The power of words, is incomparable, is infinitely greater than any known thing to humanity. Therefore, our main goal from now on will be drifting away from the text and creating a compelling speech. Mostly, based solely on your ability to organize a sentence in your mind and speak it out loud in a logical order. 

First off, let’s try creating associations of words. One of the best ways to organize a whole paragraph in your mind before speaking, is thinking like a cloud structure. 

Also, very similar to the cloud structure, is the image structure where you can introduce images in any particular order that you desire. This will serve as a visual aid for you and your audience.

A great way to remember lots of things is by using rhymes and acronyms. 

Three important key points 1. Never forget to have fun. avoid the fear of losing and the rest seems so little. 2. When failing miserably, just stop. Take a long breath and start again. And 3. It’s not failing if the outcome is great. 

Ultimately, the mastery of public speaking is down to this: Knowing that you can fail, and still carry on. 

Use “The Cetacean” also known as Enunciate. When you are speaking in public, they should hear you all the way in the back and in every corner. It’s also a great way to relax and have fun. Along with “The Cetacean” is “The Exaggeration”, similar techniques that may improve your skills. Some of the most difficult words to pronounce correctly are easily solved by exaggerating the complete words. 

Make sure to pronounce every letter on the word and make every sound loud and clear. Combine both techniques and apply a faster pace. Don`t rush, it’s not necessary to do so. Start slow and repeat your speech at least three times until you find the right pace.

Review everything that you just went through, and decide what went well and what needs improvement. Overcome them, and leave with new tools to improve your performance.

Ninjakats should work on both body and soul! When you are working hard, it’s very important to take a brain break. This will help your body to move, improve your concentration, and be able to produce better things

Mindfulness is the ability to achieve a mental state by focusing one’s awareness in the present moment, while accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and body sensations.
